Depending on how you interact with SmartPic, we may collect the following categories of information:

• Contact information: your email address when you contact support, request license restore help, or communicate with us.
• Purchase and licensing information: transaction details, license identifiers, machine identifiers, and related records needed to deliver downloads, activate licenses, or process trial access.
• Trial and anti-abuse data: device identifiers, machine names, or fingerprints used to start a trial, enforce license limits, or prevent repeated abuse of trial flows.
• Website and attribution data: pages viewed, referrer information, query parameters, event IDs, click IDs, UTM parameters, local storage identifiers, screen dimensions, and similar technical signals used for analytics and ad attribution.
• Payment information: billing and payment data handled by payment providers. We do not store full payment card numbers on our own servers.
• User content: if you send us images or files through support channels, we may receive those files to respond to your request.

We use personal information to operate SmartPic and support the business behind it. This includes using information to:

• provide downloads, trials, license activation, updates, and restore workflows;
• process purchases, verify transactions, and prevent fraud or abuse;
• respond to support requests and communicate about your license or order;
• measure advertising performance, understand campaign attribution, and improve the website;
• debug, secure, maintain, and improve the product and supporting infrastructure;
• comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms or policies.

SmartPic's core image-editing workflows are designed to run locally on your Mac. For normal use of features such as background removal, object cleanup, and upscaling, your photos are not uploaded to SmartPic servers solely to perform those edits.

This does not prevent information from being processed elsewhere when necessary for other functions, such as downloading the app, starting a trial, activating a license, checking for updates, restoring a purchase, or handling a support request you initiate.

We and our service providers may use cookies, pixels, local storage, session storage, and similar technologies to understand website usage, remember attribution data, and measure advertising performance.

For example, SmartPic uses local storage and session storage for attribution values such as click IDs and UTM parameters, and uses Reddit advertising tools for conversion measurement.

You can limit some of this collection through browser settings, privacy tools, or device controls, although some features may not work as intended if certain technologies are blocked.

We may share information with service providers and partners that help us operate SmartPic, including:

• Payment providers such as Stripe, to process purchases and related payment workflows.
• Licensing and distribution providers such as Keygen, to manage licenses, trials, and downloads.
• Advertising and attribution providers such as Reddit, to measure ad performance and conversions.
• Infrastructure, hosting, database, email, and support providers that help us run the website and respond to users.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and security, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

We do not sell personal information for money. However, some advertising or attribution disclosures may be treated as "sharing" under certain privacy laws.

We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to provide services, maintain records, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and comply with legal, tax, accounting, or reporting obligations.

Retention periods vary depending on the type of information. For example, transaction and licensing records may be kept longer than short-lived technical attribution data.

Depending on where you live, you may have privacy rights such as the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of personal information we hold about you. You may also have the right to object to or limit certain processing, including some advertising-related disclosures.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

SmartPic is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the website or product services.

SmartPic and its service providers may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Those countries may have data protection laws that differ from the laws in your jurisdiction.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated version here and change the effective date at the top of the page.
